Timeline: After the First Movie
Background: April O’neil is a TV New Reporter for Channel 3 Eye-witness news. She starts out in the movie as the victim of a mugging right outside her office, where she is ssaved by a band of mysterious shadows. Ever curious, instead of being frightened off by this attack, it serves to fuel her desire to figure out this ‘Silent Crime-wave’ and put it to an end. Following various leads, April winds up getting to close for comfort and the leader of the crime wave (Oroku Saki a.k.a The Shredder) sends a gang of ninjas to silence her for good. She winds up being saved by Raphael and taken to the Turtles lair where, after a rather loud greeting, she winds up privy to their origins and secret. She invites them up to her apartment after the turtles walk her home; once they leave she wonder if she would ever seem them again. Little did she expect the four boys to return with new that their master had gone missing. April lets them stay with her, and such winds up bringing their world and hers into a collision course- winding up with a wild adventure that despite the heartache it cause, she would never trade for anything.
Personality: April is generally a cheerful, outgoing woman- which is necessary for her line of work. She shows a general compassion for the turtles (and Casey) and has a soft spot for all of them. She is genial and easy going, so long as you remember to stay on her good side. If that line is crossed however, she will become snappish, easily angered and sarcastic. Casey jones is a good example of the type of person that gets this reaction, though their arguing turned into heartfelt bickering near the end. April is also the type of woman that enjoys doing things on her own and should she be stopped or someone attempts to do so, she will get huffy and unresponsive. Blatantly ignoring the person and continuing with what she was originally doing. Also, yes, April does have the famed red-head temper, so she can get easily annoyed if a person is not careful.
Physical Description: April stands about five feet seven inches tall with curly red hair and brown eyes. She often wears simple outfits that she can mix and match through out the day. Her favorite thing to wear are skirts, tanks and nice over-shirt.
Strengths/Skills:
While April is a fairly normal human, no extra strength or super human abilitites at all. Her greatest asset is what she uses on her job; her determination, investigation skills and keen wit. These tend to keep out of trouble (though lately these same skills seem to be getting her into more trouble) and have pushed her career to it’s peak. She’s a decent artist as well and actually has a lot of common sense for the typical ‘damsel in distress’. She doesn’t back down either, which can be seen as a strength when dealing with bully-types or pushy police chiefs.
